The Department of Business and Management of Luiss University in collaboration with Italiacamp invites young scholars to express their interest for a full-time Assistant Professors position in the field of Impact Innovation.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a young and thriving university whose strategic growth is powered by innovation as an academic, cross-cutting subject and as an organizing principle that permeates the institution. Luiss has recently launched a Master in Law, Digital Innovation and Sustainability that matches the strong emphasis on Innovation & Entrepreneurship in the Master in Management. The faculty is also engaged in an ongoing, university-wide initiative dedicated to designing and developing innovation as a central tenet of the University's educational model.
Requirements
We seek candidates with a strong commitment to research and teaching, and who hold high aspirations to contribute to Luiss University's international expansion and visibility.
Ideal candidates hold or are in the process to obtain a PhD from a leading university. They have teaching experience and a relevant record of publications and/or research projects. They should also show a passionate drive to engage in Luiss University's dynamic and stimulating academic environment and to contribute to its further development. They are expected to have research experience on and an interest to pursue research projects on how the process of innovation (e.g., open and collaborative innovation, business model innovation, open data and open science, mission-oriented and moonshot innovation) and its outputs combine to impact individuals, organizations, communities and society at large in terms of health, security, economic growth, ecological and social wellbeing.
Role and Responsibilities
The Assistant Professor of Impact Innovation is expected to undertake rigorous and innovative research, publish in high-quality international journals, and contribute to the collegial and intellectual life of the University and of the Luiss community at large.
The position of Assistant Professor is for a three-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of renewal based on a positive evaluation from the Department. Teaching load is 60 hrs per year either in an undergraduate or graduate program. Teaching can be in English, Italian or both. The position holder will also supervise master's dissertations and bachelor's papers and will be expected to contribute to Luiss' ambitious doctoral program. Appointments are full-time and the salary is competitive.
About the Department of Business and Management
The Department of Business and Management is a leading multidisciplinary department that offers Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees. The Department has grown internationally in recent years, including over 50 faculty members from 10 different nationalities and more than 3,000 students. The Faculty develops and shapes research agendas in the global academic arena with the aim of developing new paradigms to understand and address social phenomena. Faculty research interests include performance measurement systems; corporate finance; international strategy and industry evolution; corporate governance; law and economics; digital innovation and transformation; data science; marketing and consumer behaviour; organization theory and HRM. Faculty members regularly publish on such topics in top-ranked academic journals and practice-oriented journals. In recent years, the Department has recruited leading scholars in the field of managing, organizing and theorizing innovation such as Henry Chesbrough, Jannis Kallinikos, and Ian McCarthy.
