    Dear OMTers,

As you know, the Academy is going virtual this summer. In response, we at the OMT Executive Committee have been working to figure out how we can best assure a highly interactive program. In particular, we are working to assure that the OMT PDWs and the scholarly program are set to meet the challenges of organizing the 2020 meeting virtually. Our commitment to honoring the excellent work and valuable initiatives of our authors and organizers remains as strong as always.

As you know by now, the Academy is planning to offer some accepted PDWs, symposia and papers synchronously during the virtual conference and encourage the others to run asynchronously on their website. For PDWs and Symposia offered asynchronously by the Academy, OMTs PDW Chair Eva Boxenbaum and Program Chair Martin Kilduff will be inviting the organizers to self-organize a Flipped PDWeb or a Flipped Web-symposium. In other words, while the asynchronous content will be offered on the AoM platform, OMT is inviting the organizers to create an accompanying synchronous event where an interactive conversation can occur in a medium of their choice (e.g. Zoom, Skype etc.). Details to follow when the Academy announces the framework for the 2020 virtual conference.

Our intention is to engage the OMT community in experimenting with how we exchange ideas and engage in professional and academic development online for the potential benefit of future annual meetings, and we hope you will join us!
