The Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame is launching a PhD Program for the first time in its 100 year history-beginning with the PhD in Management through the Management & Organization (M&O) Department. Our PhD program will begin accepting applications this fall, with a January deadline, for matriculation in Fall of 2022. The program has concentrations in both Organizational Behavior (OB) and Strategy and Entrepreneurship (S&E). The program's website is linked below, with Jason Colquitt serving as the PhD Coordinator.

The M&O Department includes a talented and diverse faculty whose research is regularly showcased in journals like Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, Strategic Management Journal, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Management Science, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and Journal of Applied Psychology. M&O faculty study a number of topics relevant to Mendoza's Grow the Good in Business mission, including meaning, resilience, trust, ideology, ethics, activism, humility, reputation, justice, and social responsibility.

M&O's OB faculty include the following scholars, with PhD institutions shown in parentheses: Jason Colquitt (Michigan State), Mike Crant (North Carolina), Ann Tenbrunsel (Northwestern), Cindy Muir (Zapata) (Florida), Dorian Boncoeur (UT-Dallas), Charlice Hurst (Florida), Tim Kundro (Wharton), and Brittany Solomon (Hall) (WashU). M&O's S&E faculty include Craig Crossland (Penn State), Dean Shepherd (Bond), Viva Bartkus (Oxford), Mike Mannor (Michigan State), Adam Wowak (Penn State), John Busenbark (Arizona State), Tim Hubbard (Georgia), and Joanna Campbell (research affiliate, Texas A&M).

As you have conversations with talented undergrads, masters students, and alums about a potential PhD path, we hope you'll add Mendoza to the list of schools you recommend exploring. Our program will encourage students to do important, rigorous, and interesting work in areas that they're passionate about. And the editorial experience possessed by our faculty-including editor, associate editor, and editorial board roles-will help them shape and hone that work. In addition, our faculty have significant experience placing PhD students in top business schools, whether in earlier faculty positions or through our postdoctoral program. Collectively, we have placed 13 students at UT-Dallas Top 100 business schools.

Please encourage any interested students or alums to explore our website and reach out to our faculty. Thank you!
