The Asia School of Business (ASB) invites applications for a full-time, permanent, in-residence position in Management, beginning Fall 2021. The appointment is made at Full Professor, Associate, or Assistant rank depending on research and teaching record, and, if applicable, on business experience.

    About ASB

ASB was founded in 2015 as a collaboration between the Central Bank of Malaysia and the MIT Sloan School of Management.  Located in the heart of the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur, ASB was recognized in 2017 by Poets & Quants as offering "the most innovative MBA program in the world." Strong on action learning, the school's mission includes developing transformative and principled leaders, particularly focused on the emerging economies.

ASB offers a multicultural and intellectually stimulating environment for scholars across different disciplines.  We promote high-impact and actionable academic research and embrace scholarship from multiple disciplinary perspectives. In addition to a full-time MBA and an MBA for Working Professionals, ASB is planning to add specializations and research in business analytics and entrepreneurship.

Each ASB faculty member has a research affiliate appointment at MIT Sloan School and may spend three to four months there as an International Faculty Fellow, focused on teaching and research capability development. ASB offers internationally competitive compensation packages, relocation assistance, generous research funding, and strong teaching support.

    Requirements

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. from an internationally recognized institution and have an established record (or strong potential) of solid scholarly research commensurate with rank.

We favor applicants who are passionate about impactful and actionable research, committed to excellence, and who can demonstrate the ability or potential to teach effectively in MBA, Professional MBA, and Executive Education programs. The willingness and ability to teach either data analytics or entrepreneurship and innovation will be considered a plus.

The successful candidate should also be willing to contribute in a proactive and collegial manner to the School's development and demonstrate a strong interest in supporting/advising students' experiential learning through group and individual "Action Learning" projects in partner companies, which is a distinguishing feature of our programs.

    How to Apply

Interested candidates are invited to send: (1) a cover letter, (2) a current CV, (3) a research statement, (4) one to three research papers, (5) a teaching statement and/or evidence of teaching effectiveness, and (6) contact information for at least two academic referees who will provide letters of recommendation to ASBfacultysearch@asb.edu.my

Review of applications is ongoing; however, we encourage submissions before January 31st, 2021. Screening of applications will continue on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted to schedule virtual interviews via Zoom. We will host campus visits by invitation in March/April 2021 if the Covid-19 situation allows for that. If not, the job talks will be held online.

For questions regarding this call feel free to contact Professor Michael Frese at michael.frese@asb.edu.my or Dr. Ambra Mazzelli at ambra.mazzelli@asb.edu.my.
