    PhD Student

    Fixed-term renewable contract, full time

    4/5-year program, beginning September 2021

    The position

    As part of a cohort of eight doctoral students, you will take methodological and theory classes to develop your skills and build your thesis project. GEM offers an article-based thesis format, leading to publication in international journals. Upon entry, you will join a research team within which to develop both individual and collaborative research. The Alternative Forms of Markets and Organizations research team (AFMO) addresses social and environmental innovations, alternative organizations and new management practices. The Organizations, Work, Identity and Careers research team (OWIC) addresses topics such as career trajectories, work-life integration, and intercultural and diversity management.

    Activities

    PhD program (60%)

    • Take courses in qualitative and quantitative methods
    • Take courses in theories of management, take part in research seminars
    • Develop your thesis project

    Research assistance (30%)

    • Participate in the research projects of the AFMO/OWIC team, or those of other GEM researchers according to your own research interests

    Pedagogical assistance (10%)

    • Design pedagogical materials (PowerPoints, case studies, etc.)
    • Tutor students
    • Teach (from the second year)

    Profile

    • Master's degree
    • Training or experience in research
    • Good self-management
    • Fluent English

    Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM) is now accepting applications to its PhD program, to begin in September 2021. Admitted candidates usually receive a tuition waiver and a monthly assistantship stipend to allow for full-time doctoral study.
