    ONLINE IDENTITIES

    Following the interest in the special issue on 'Online Identities: The Struggle for the Virtual Self' the submission deadline for which is May 1st 2021, we are pleased to be able to announce its Virtual Paper Development Workshop taking place on February 19th, 2021. This workshop has been generously supported by Organization.

    This workshop offers an opportunity for scholars to develop their ongoing work related to online identities. The workshop will be developmental with each paper having as a discussant one of the Guest Editors, Marcos Barros (Grenoble École de Management), Rafael Alcadipani (FGV-EAESP), Christine Coupland (Loughborough University), and Andrew Brown (University of Bath), who will help authors prepare their manuscripts for the upcoming Special Issue submission. Authors will also receive feedback from peers.

    Interested scholars should submit an extended abstract (no more than 3000 words) of their paper proposal to the Guest Editors via email onlineidentitiesorganization@gmail.com by January 22nd, 2021. Your submitted abstract should describe the project and research question, theoretical framing and contribution, research design, preliminary findings, and references. Authors will be notified via email on January 29, 2021 and will be given further details about the structure of the day.

    Before the deadline, we are happy to provide feedback to people in advance of January regarding whether their ideas are suitable for the SI.

    Logistics and Support to Participants

    The workshop will take place online at different time zones to accommodate, authors from different time zones. It will consist of a maximum of 20 authors who, along with Guest Editors, will discuss papers and offer developmental advice. The atmosphere will be collegial and informal, but centred on progressing working papers with the objective of getting them ready to be submitted to the Special Issue on 'Online Identities' at Organization. 

    There is no conference fee. Participants are expected to attend for the whole day.
