The third episode in CBA Organizational Wisdom Studio's track on "Leading with Emotional Intelligence" provides insights about leader-member exchange theory as it relates to emotional intelligence.
The episode features the film titled "A Green Catering Co.", produced in 2016, to provide insights about how organizational change can make some employees feel like they are becoming an "out-group" in their organization and how these employees can feel increasingly lonely.
Specifically, the film tells the story of a vegetarian employee who works at a vegan company and depicts her loneliness when her organization makes an overnight decision to become a meat company. The film then illustrates how emotional intelligence can help organizational leaders win back their lonely "out-group" employees, who in turn can flourish during organizational change to feel joy.
Please share this episode with your students, colleagues, and others, at a time when we all need more intelligence in our organizations. Enjoy the show!
