The International Association for Chinese Management Research, in collaboration with Cambridge University Press, is seeking a new Editor-in-Chief for Management and Organization Review.
Management and Organization Review is the leading journal on Chinese management. Management and Organization Review publishes high impact theoretical and empirical papers in three domains. The first is research that seeks to understand phenomenon unique to China (context specific research). The second is research that compares Chinese management with that of other countries or regions, including both emerging and developed economies (context dependent research). The third is management research that is universal (context free). We encourage research that looks at phenomena that are of great importance to organizations and society, in particular those that address the "grand challenges" facing business and organizations today. Some examples of such challenges include economic and social inequality, nature of work in the internet and AI environments, sustainability, and social entrepreneurship. Studies at both the micro and macro levels as well as interdisciplinary research are welcome.
Professor Arie Y. Lewin, the current Editor-in-Chief, will conclude his editorship on December 31st 2021. During his term, MOR has reached a number of new milestones.
Candidacy for the Editor-in-Chief requires strong scholarship, an understanding of China, a commitment to advancing Chinese management research, editorial experience, and good management skills. The candidate must demonstrate an understanding of the challenging environment facing management research in the context of China, as well as articulate strategies for taking MOR to the next level.
It is expected that the new Editor-in-Chief will continue to work with Tina Minchella, the Managing Editor of MOR, who has been with MOR since 2010. The International Association for Chinese Management Research, Cambridge University Press, and the Editor's home institution work together to provide the resources needed to run MOR.
The term of the Editor-in-Chief is four years, after a transition year as Editor-in-Chief Elect beginning in January 2021. The Editor-in-Chief Elect will begin accepting manuscripts as Incoming Editor-in-Chief on July 1, 2021. The out-going Editor-in-Chief will oversee the completion of the review process of the manuscripts submitted through June 30, 2021. The formal term of the new Editor-in-Chief will begin January 1, 2022, and ending December 31, 2025.
