    Dear colleagues

If you are planning to attend the DRUID Conference in Toronto (June 25-27), please consider joining us for this Paper Development Workshop (PDW) focused on "Human Capital for a Sustainable Future". The event will take place on June 25 (9am-12pm).

The PDW's primary goal is to stimulate and advance excellent research dealing with individual/people-based decisions or outcomes. The PDW provides both stimulating presentations on novel research avenues and facilitates an exchange of ideas, theory, methodologies, and data among the participants.

The event is organized in two parts. In the first part, we will have a line-up of five scholars ready to share their recent research and/or research ideas on various human capital-related topics:

    ·         Laura Doering (Rotman School of Management): Entrepreneurship and gender

    ·         Martin Goosen (Old Dominion University): Inventor human and social capital

    ·         Ali Mohammadi (Copenhagen Business School): Hiring and restrictive immigration policies

    ·         Kate Odziemkowska (Rotman School of Management): Collaboration with non-market stakeholders

    ·         Henry Sauermann (ESMT Berlin): Crowds and artificial intelligence

In the second part, the participants will be divided into small groups/round tables where they can discuss a paper idea or an ongoing project that fits the broad theme of the PDW. Those interested in participating in the second part of the PDW must submit a one-page proposal (excluding bibliography) of a research project they are working on. Each proposal will be assigned a discussant at the table. Conditional on spot availability, participation is also possible without submitting a proposal but by agreeing to serve as a discussant. Submissions of proposals (or manifestation of interest to participate as a discussant) should be submitted via this form: https://shorturl.at/VpDpI by May 26, 2025.

Please note that attendance at the second part is limited to presenters and discussants. The first part of the PDW is open to anyone participating in the DRUID conference.

This PDW is co-sponsored by the People Hub at the Department of Strategy and Innovation at Copenhagen Business School and by the journal Industry and Innovation.

We look forward to seeing you in Toronto in June.

    The PDW organizers
