Colleagues,
Innovation North's next speaker on systems innovation is Jason Jay. The title of his talk is: 'The Systems Turn in Finance'. He will describe how investors are starting to understand the social and environmental risks we face as systemic risks, the need for systemic change, and the opportunity for systems thinking to enhance investment practice. He will show how tools like the En-ROADS climate simulator can help cultivate "systems aware" investors, as well as the more advanced examples of "systemic investing" and "system stewardship" that are emerging in practice to address climate and the other big challenges of our time.
Jason is a Senior Lecturer and Director of the MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative, and the co-author of Breaking Through Gridlock. Jason's last 20 years of research, teaching, advising, and field building has explored the variety of roles that corporates, entrepreneurs, investors, NGOs, public policy, and cross-sectoral field builders can play in building a just and sustainable world.
The event will take place online on December 10 from 10-11 AM EST.
