    The Management Department at the Robert J. Manning School of Business, University of Massachusetts Lowell, is seeking applications for the Robert J. Manning Endowed Chair in Corporate Sustainability, a tenured full-professor appointment. We invite applications from tenured full or advanced associate professors from AACSB-accredited schools. The ideal candidates possess a record of nationally recognized research in Corporate Sustainability or Corporate Social Responsibility as evidenced by publications in top-tier journals. In addition, they can demonstrate excellence in teaching and service within their academic community and profession. Preferred candidates will also have strong external engagement with academic associations such as the Academy of Management and the Alliance for Research on Corporate Sustainability. The successful candidate will maintain a high-quality research agenda, mentor Ph.D., graduate, and undergraduate students, and collaborate with faculty. They will also develop courses on Corporate Sustainability and/or Corporate Social Responsibility at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Additionally, they will continue their external service to the profession.

    The initial appointment for the Endowed Chair is five years, renewable for additional three-year terms without limit, subject to successful review of research, teaching, and service activities. The Endowed Chair, in addition to the base (9-month) salary, will receive a one-month summer salary annually, a substantial research fund to cover conference travel, hosting seminars, and other research expenses, and will have access to Ph.D. research assistance and administrative support.

    The Endowed Chair will join the Management Department, a collegial and accomplished group of 16 scholars who publish in top-tier journals such as Academy of Management Review, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Science, and Strategic Management Journal and maintain a high level of teaching excellence. The Manning School itself boasts a vibrant community of over 3,750 diverse undergraduate and graduate students and holds accreditation from AACSB International. Situated in a modern facility equipped with cutting-edge classrooms, the school offers an exceptional learning environment. UMass Lowell is located 30 miles Northwest of Boston and serves as the second-largest public university in Massachusetts with over 18,000 students. It acts as a research hub for the Merrimack Valley innovation ecosystem and has close ties with numerous Fortune 500 companies with proximal regional headquarters. 

    Minimum Qualifications (Required):

    ·        Tenured Full or Associate Professor with a Ph.D. from an AACSB-accredited school

           ·        Evidence of ongoing research and a record of top-tier publications in general management journals.

    ·        A record of teaching effectiveness

    ·        The ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students and faculty

    ·        Demonstrated proficiency in written and spoken English

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    ·        Experience in supervising and advising doctoral students

    ·        Evidence of a strong commitment to internal and external service

    ·        Record of external engagement within Corporate Sustainability and/or CSR academic communities.

           ·        Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
