2020 Strategy Science Conference

May 1–2 & Strategy Science Doctoral Workshop April 30
We are pleased to announce the third annual Strategy Science Conference. The conference will be held at the Wharton School and is being co-sponsored by the journal Strategy Science and the Mack Institute for Innovation Management at the Wharton School. Strategy Science, an INFORMS journal, is establishing itself as an important voice in the strategy field, providing an outlet for innovative strategy research tackling central questions in the field. In that spirit, the conference will provide an opportunity for a limited number of strategy researchers to share their work with in-depth discussions both in the context of the formal paper presentations and panel discussions and the informal discussions that a small, focused conference offers.
The conference aims to attract a diverse set of work addressing key issues in the strategy field. We invite individual paper contributions as well as proposals for panel sessions. Papers not currently under journal review, which could be potential submissions to Strategy Science, are particularly welcome. While the primary focus of the conference will be on research contributions, we will also feature a "teaching showcase" session. If you have an interesting new case, a conceptual framework, research finding, etc. that you have translated for your MBA or undergraduate class that might fit with such a session, please provide us with a one-page description of what you would be presenting. (You can submit this in addition to, or in lieu of, a paper submission.) Furthermore, if you are interested in attending the conference as a non-presenter, please submit a short statement expressing your interest.
Prior to the main conference, on April 30, we will once again hold the Strategy Science Doctoral Workshop. The format is targeted toward students who are finishing or have recently finished their coursework and are in the early stages of their dissertation work (not targeting the upcoming job market cycle). Applicants should send a brief (3 to 4 page) statement of their research interests along with their CV and provide one letter of recommendation from a faculty member. Students admitted to the workshop will also be invited to participate in the main conference that follows on Friday and Saturday.
