    Dear Friends,

Each year Organization and Management Theory (OMT) Division honors its outstanding members with awards. This year we call for nominations for the Distinguished Scholar Award, The Distinguished Educator Award, and the inaugural Ned Smith Rising Star Award.

PLEASE DON'T LET THIS OPPORTUNITY PASS TO NOMINATE SOMEONE WHO YOU THINK HAS HAD AN IMPORTANT AND VALUABLE IMPACT ON THE FIELD.

The Distinguished Scholar Award is for an OMT Division member whose contributions have been central to the intellectual development of the field of organization studies. As individuals, each recipient embodies a career of scholarly achievement and has had a significant impact on OMT scholarship. For past Distinguished Scholar award winners, please see https://omt.aom.org/omt/awards/distinguished-scholar-award

The biennial Distinguished Educator Award honors an OMT Division member who has made exceptional contributions to organization and management theory education. It is intended as a tribute to individuals who have positively influenced educational practices within the OMT field. This influence may take many different forms, including the design of new courses, authorship of books or cases, creation of conceptual frameworks, and/or the development of innovative techniques (e.g. management simulations). Read more about the award and see past winners https://omt.aom.org/omt/awards/deaward

The OMT Ned Smith Rising Star Award is being awarded for the first time in 2023. This award recognizes an OMT scholar who has established a research record of exceptional quality and creativity early in their career. As an individual, the recipient has influenced the field through bridging academic disciplines and spanning boundaries between research traditions, scholarly conversations, or between different societal stakeholder groups. The award winner has also exhibited outstanding mentoring and advising. Eligible for nominations are OMT members within 10 years (excluding leaves) of completing their PhD. The award is established in honor of Edward 'Ned' Bishop Smith (1981-2021). More information can be found https://omt.aom.org/omt/awards/risingstar

To nominate candidates, please visit https://apps.aom.org/DivNomination and follow the onscreen instructions to log-in to your Academy profile. Once you log-in, you may select 'Nominate Now' for Organization and Management Theory. You can also send your nominations directly to me at fbriscoe@psu.edu

Nominations should include a brief text explaining the nature and extent of the nominee's contributions. For the Distinguished Scholar Award, the nomination should point out contributions to and influence on OMT scholarship. For the Distinguished Educator Award, the nomination should highlight contributions to educational practices within the OMT field. For the Ned Smith Rising Star Award, nominations should identify early career scholarly and community contributions.

The deadline for all nominations is January 27, 2023. So please make your nominations now.

Very best wishes for the New Year
    Forrest Briscoe
    OMT Division Chair-Elect
