    Dear Colleagues.

NSF has just released the solicitation for our final Human and Social Dynamics Competition.  Once again, these proposals must be significantly interdisciplinary (3 co-PIs from at least 2 different disciplines).  The three areas of emphasis remain unchanged.  This year, exploratory proposals are not invited. The two budget categories are $750,000 maximum (where most proposals will fall) and $1.25 million maximum (for particularly expensive interdisciplinary projects).  The deadlines are 19 and 22 Feb (depending on budget request).

     The solicitation is posted at:

Although this is the last year for this competition, please do not discount the opportunity. NSF expects to fund $30 million in HSD project in '08 competition.  For those of you working on significantly interdisciplinary and potentially transformative topics, this is still a wonderful opportunity.

    Best regards.
