Dear colleague,
We are proud to announce our new journal and to ask your advice:
Organization Design
Levels of Work and Human Capability
A Journal of the Global Organization Design Society
Organization Design's purpose is to support improved organization design and management practice around the world so that organizations and individuals can perform to the limit of their capability.
The life works of Wilfred Brown and Elliott Jaques effectively linked philosophy, science, and application in an integrated management system. This system provides the foundation upon which an evidence-based framework of management and organization design can be built.
Their key concepts of discrete work levels, corresponding human capability levels, accountability relationships, and effective managerial leadership practices based on dialogue are the foundation of the system.
Organization Design will examine the elaboration and systematic application of these concepts and principles to design and to implement strategy and to solve organizational problems across various organization types, functions, industries and geographies.
We believe that use of these concepts in many aspects of management theory building and research will improve results - whether in enhanced replication of previous findings or in new areas.
We seek articles:
· That are written to interest and to inform practitioners by authors with the breadth of experience required to develop integrated perspectives about the world of the general manager.
· That take a systems rather than a fragmented approach.
· That link to and build on the strengths of other major approaches to organization design and development.
· That support evidence-based management by either providing measures linked to organization effectiveness or recommendations for needed research.
· That recommend best practices for the education and development of organization design practitioners"
We hope you are interested and wish you would give us your advice on:
· any comments you have on Organization Design's name, purpose, features or criteria for articles, and
· the special issue topics that would most serve your work and/or that you would like to contribute to.
