    Dear colleagues,

    please find attached a Call for papers for the 7th Symposium on
    "Competence-based Strategic Management" / "Strategisches
    Kompetenz-Management" (SKM), which will be held from September 28-30,
    2011 in Linz / Austria. The SKM-Symposia provide a platform for
    intensive discussion and exchange of research ideas, and work in the
    field of competence-based strategic management. Since 1999 the
    conference has been held every two years. The Institute of Human
    Resource and Change Management at the Johannes Kepler University in
    Linz/Austria will host the Symposium in September 2011.

    Authors are invited to submit papers from all areas of competence-based
    strategic management. Particularly welcome are papers concerning
    questions in the field of:

    • Competence-based management
    • Strategic learning (conference theme): ambidexterity, dynamic
    capabilities
    • Theory development: RbV, CbV and beyond
    • Towards a knowledge-based economy: competence management and
    measurement
    • Innovation and change
    • Practice of strategy

    Submissions are appreciated in English as well as in German language. We
    welcome empirical and theoretical papers in the field of
    competence-based strategic management. To submit, please send an
    abstract (must not exceed 500 words) to "skm2011@jku.at" no later than
    28/02/2011. As in previous years there is the possibility to publish
    your full papers in a conference proceedings. Additionally, selected
    papers – refereed through a double blind process – will be published as
    a special issue of the International Journal of Knowledge Management
    Studies (IJKMS). IJKMS is a refereed and authoritative source of
    information in the field of knowledge management and related aspects.

    We would like to encourage you to submit a paper. Also, please feel free
    to circulate this call to colleagues who could be interested.
