    OMTers -- I wanted to draw your attention to an All-Academy PDW (Sunday) session at the AOM that may be of interest. It's open to all, and we'd love to see you there!

    Program Session #: 485
    Sunday, Aug 9 2009 4:00PM - 6:00PM at Hyatt Regency Chicago in Columbus IJ

    Title: Classical Sociologists Confront our Environmental Crisis

    Chair: Paul Adler; U. of Southern California;
    Panelists:
    Richard Marens; California State U. Sacramento;
    Thorbjoern Knudsen; U. of Southern Denmark;
    Markus C. Becker; U. of Southern Denmark;
    Stella M. Nkomo; U. of South Africa;
    Ad Van iterson; Maastricht U
    Pamela S. Tolbert; Cornell U
    Shon R Hiatt; Cornell U.;
    Charles Heckscher; Rutgers U.
    Peer C. Fiss; U. of Southern California

    The premise of this PDW is that rereading "classics" of sociology
    can help management scholars orient themselves more effectively in
    addressing the mounting environmental crisis facing the planet. In
    small breakout groups, panelists will engage discussion with
    participants on the value of ideas in Marx, Schumpeter, Du Bois,
    Elias, Michels, Parsons, and Durkheim.
