    Dear OMT Members,

Each year OMT honors its outstanding members with awards. This year we call for nominations for the Distinguished Scholar Award and for the Distinguished Educator Award. Nominations should include a brief letter explaining the nature and extent of the nominee's contributions.

The Distinguished Scholar Award is for an OMT Division member whose contributions have been central to the intellectual development of the field of organization studies. As individuals, each recipient embodies a career of scholarly achievement and has had a significant impact on OMT scholarship. For past Distinguished Scholar award winners, please see http://omtweb.org/awards/distinguished-scholar-award. For the Distinguished Scholar award, the nomination should point out contributions to and influence on OMT scholarship.

The biennial Distinguished Educator Award highlights the importance of good teaching in OMT and is intended to stimulate discussion on how to improve our impact on students. This biennial award honors an OMT Division member who has made exceptional contributions to organization and management theory education. The purpose of the award is not to recognize excellent teaching, per se.  It is rather intended as a tribute to individuals who have positively influenced educational practices within the broader OMT field. This influence may take many different forms, including the design of new OMT-related courses, the authorship of widely used books or cases, the creation of new conceptual frameworks, and/or the development of innovative and widely-used educational techniques (e.g. management simulations). For past Distinguished Educator Award winners, please see http://omtweb.org/awards/distinguished-educator-award. For the Distinguished Educator award, nomination letters should highlight activities that opened up new lines of inquiry, new journals or series of conferences and workshops that prompted new areas of inquiry.

Nominations should be emailed to the OMT Division Chair-Elect, Nelson Phillips (n.phillips@imperial.ac.uk ).

The deadline for all nominations is Wednesday, January 28th 2015. So please make your nominations now.

    Sincerely,

    Nelson
