Dear Colleagues,
Royston Greenwood and I are very pleased to announce a new volume in our Cambridge Elements Series is available. Emotions in Organization Theory by Charlene Zietsma, Madeline Toubiana, Maxim Voronov, and Anna Roberts focuses on emotions as intersubjective, collective and relational, and reviews structuralist, people-centered and strategic approaches to emotions in different research streams to provide one of the first broad examinations of emotions in organization theory. The authors also provide suggestions for future research within each literature and look across the literatures to identify theoretical and methodological considerations.
Emotion in Organizations is the sixth element of the Cambridge Elements in Organization Theory series. Elements are small digital books that are available online or by print on demand. The purpose of the Cambridge Elements on Organization Theory is to systematize and contribute to our understanding of organizations and organization theory. We envisage two types of Elements. One will present and discuss core and emerging theoretical perspectives and approaches. A second will apply those perspectives to issues and outcomes, including those of long standing concern (such as achieving organizational change, managing innovation, the comparison of different types of organizations, etc.); and, more recent concerns (such as social, ethnic and gender inequality, corruption and wrongdoing, corporate social responsibility). The idea of this latter set of contributions is to show how organization theory speaks to these issues and thus highlights its application and relevance.
This volume joins our growing list of elements focusing on topics such as stakeholder theory, cultural entrepreneurship, and the historical development of organization theory. You can find more information on the series here: https://www.cambridge.org/core/what-we-publish/elements/organization-theory-elements. More importantly, you can find more information on the new element on emotion here including a link to download it for free for a limited time: https://www.cambridge.org/core/elements/emotions-in-organization-theory/EC4CAF2345342FAAB11DD8CA77AD5DDA
Happy reading and please feel free to get in touch if you would like to know more about the series or have suggestions for additional elements.
