Open-Rank Tenure-Track Positions, Management and Human Resources Department
The Department of Management and Human Resources at HEC Paris is recruiting for tenure-track faculty positions at an open rank (with preference for assistant professors with an established academic record) for the academic year 2018-2019.
We seek applicants with solid doctoral training and strong research orientation in the areas of Organizational Behavior, Organization Theory, or Human Resource Management. Successful candidates will have demonstrated their ability to publish in premier academic journals in management or related disciplines. They must also possess the skills to be effective teachers for our high-caliber, international student body. As our courses are given in English, knowledge of French is not a requirement.
Three of our professors will be available for informal discussions at the Academy of Management meeting in Atlanta. Interested candidates should submit a curriculum vitae and a short letter of interest by July 16th, 2017. All application materials should be sent electronically (as PDF attachments) to
dpt-mrh@hec.fr
The deadline for receipt of all application files is September 1st, 2017. Please include a letter of intent, updated CV, job market paper, two other samples of writing, a research statement, teaching statement, and teaching evaluations (if any). All application materials should be sent by email (PDF attachments) to dpt-mrh@hec.fr. Three letters of reference should also be sent directly by email to dpt-mrh@hec.fr.
The MRH Department's faculty include Roxana Barbulescu, Jin Wook Chang, Francoise Chevalier, Joelle Evans, Michel Lander, Wooseok Jung, Elie Matta, Daniel Newark, Mathis Schulte, and Michael Segalla. Our members have published in leading management and disciplinary journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, American Journal of Sociology, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Science, OBHDP, and Strategic Management Journal, among others. The department also has a small but competitive doctoral program with international placements.
HEC Paris specializes in management education and both rigorous and relevant managerial research. It is France's premier institution for business education, with a 130-year tradition, and rich and deep connections to the country's business community. HEC Paris offers a full range of programs to an increasingly international student population: Masters Degrees, MBA, EMBA, PhD, Executive Education Programs, and the TRIUM Global Executive MBA (New York, Paris & London). In total, our degree programs enroll approximately 3,000 students and over 8,500 executives attend our courses every year. The school is consistently ranked by The Financial Times in the top-three business schools in Europe, top 20 in the Global MBA ranking, and among the world's top-three performers in Executive Education Programs. According to the Times Higher Education, the school is also the #3 Alma Mater School Worldwide in terms of the number of CEOs in Fortune Global 500 companies that it educates. In addition to our main campus, located in Jouy-en-Josas, 20 km outside of Paris, we host executive programs in Paris; Doha, Qatar; and Shanghai and Beijing, China.
Compensation levels, research funding and travel support are highly competitive and similar to those at other leading business schools in Western Europe and North America.
