Moral Emotions and Institutions: The Creation of Meaningfulness in Organizations
Program Session: 1198 | Sponsors: MOC, OMT, OB
Monday, Aug 8 2016 1:15PM - 2:45PM at Hilton Anaheim in Mezzanine 12
We sincerely invite you to participate in our symposium titled "Moral Emotions and Institutions: The Creation of Meaningfulness in Organizations."
In this symposium we aim to bring scholars from different theoretical or practical perspectives to discuss the meaning creation of moral emotions or emotional process from the institutional perspective. All the presentation and discussion are around two questions: 1) How do moral emotions contribute to the formation of micro-foundations of institutional processes, especially in the situations of multiple institutional pressures? 2) What are the theoretical and practical meanings/implications of connecting moral emotions, institutions, and institutional theory? As such, we hope to advance our understanding of moral emotions from the institution lens and to further explore the micro-foundations of institutions with a focus on moral emotions.
We are very pleased to have well-known scholars in this field to present their latest research.
Sigal Barsade, U. of Pennsylvania
Deanna Geddes, Temple U.
Olivia Amanda O'Neill, George Mason U.
Francesco Sguera, UCP - Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics
Madeline Toubiana, U. of Alberta
Maxim Voronov, Brock U.
Please also bring your questions and join in our plenary discussion. We look forward to seeing you in Anaheim!
Best regards,
Hongguo
