The purpose of this PDW is to create an ongoing forum for Academy members interested in teaching social networks to undergraduate, MBA, and executive audiences to share and learn practical insights on how to prepare and deliver individual sessions or entire courses on the topic. The PDW will be organized into two modules - frameworks and tools - that are central to transforming research on social networks into effective educational experiences. Whereas the frameworks module will discuss integrated bodies of knowledge about networks, the tools module will explore pedagogical instruments useful for illustrating network concepts. Each module is led by a panel of senior scholars who will summarize their experience with a particular framework or tool, followed by an open discussion among the entire group. In order to ensure a high-quality experience and an atmosphere conducive to interaction and exchange of ideas, participation in the workshop will be limited to 50 individuals.
