We invite you to improve you ability to engage in high quality multi-method research by attending the following PDW organized by the Research Committee of the Entrepreneurship Division:
" Multi-Method Research in Entrepreneurship: Voices of Experience "
Saturday, Aug 4 2012 10:45 AM - 1:15 PM at Sheraton Boston Hotel in Republic A
Multi-method research can help illuminate complex phenomena and provide us with a rich understanding of the world of entrepreneurs, yet, scholars hesitate to combine qualitative and quantitative methods in a single paper. Understandable, since this research approach has unique challenges. But, for those who venture down this path, the outcomes are fascinating. What are the challenges of multi-method research, you wonder? How is one to get around them? What opportunities exist? Come find out from a panel of five scholars who are experienced in employing these approaches to high quality studies of entrepreneurship.
The insights they will share will be appropriate both for doctoral students who are developing methodological preferences and for established scholars who are considering venturing into rich new areas of research design.
Participating authors: Benjamin Hallen (LBS), Chad Navis (Wisconsin School of Business), Saras Sarasvathy (University of Virginia), Balagopal Vissa (INSEAD) and Ian Walsh (University College Dublin). Organizer: Kisha Lashley(Penn State University)
We look forward to seeing you in Boston.
