The Organization Behavior Department at the Boston University School of Management is recruiting faculty, subject to anticipated funding at the tenured associate or full professor level who are well grounded in the discipline of organization behavior at either the micro, meso or macro levels but whose primary focus of research and teaching falls within the broad area of ethics and the organization behavior components of social responsibility. Candidates should have a proven record of research and related curriculum development for MBA and undergraduate populations. We envision initiatives that will address issues at the individual, organizational and community levels. Our Organizational Behavior faculty currently includes Lloyd Baird, Michelle Barton, Colin Fisher, Fred Foulkes, Karen Golden-Biddle, Douglas (Tim) Hall, Emily Heaphy, William Kahn, Kathy Kram, John (Jack) McCarthy, and Aimin Yan.
The position will be located in the Organization Behavior Department with links to various Institutes and Centers at the School of Management, for example, Human Resources Policy Institute, Executive Development Roundtable, The Institute for Global Work (IGW), Institute for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization (ITEC) and/or Center for Nonprofit Management and Leadership. Each center is sponsored by corporations and government organizations and focuses research and application activities in their respective area. Those who join the faculty may be partially funded by and actively engaged in the activities of the centers, as well designing classes and instructional material in their respective areas.
Applicants should be interested in research and application that help solve significant problems within the areas of ethical decision making, the ethics of leadership, global implications of ethics, etc. They would be expected to be able to teach the core organization behavior classes but as importantly classes in the area of ethics and be able of helping infuse this important topic throughout the curriculum at both the graduate and undergraduate level. The nominal teaching load for research active professors is three classes a year. Salary is commensurate with experience. Boston University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
