We would like to invite you to attend the Professional Development Workshop,
"Exploring the Dynamics of Market
Categories and Classification Systems", at the Academy of Management
Meetings in San Antonio.
Given the burgeoning stream of research in the area of categories and
classification systems, we have convened a PDW to
discuss research findings thus far as well as discuss future directions. On
one hand, the literature on categories and
classification systems seems to be narrowing in scope, but at the same time
this research has implications for the broader
management and social science literature. In addition to a diverse group of
presenters, we have assembled a
distinguished panel of discussants:

Joe Porac (NYU)
Hayagreeva Rao (Stanford)
The session will take place Saturday, August 13th from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
