Call for submissions: Industry Studies Association Paper Development Workshop for Early Career Scholars
Paper Development Workshop
Industry Studies Association Early Career Scholars PDW
Kansas City, MO
May 28, 2013
Do you have a working paper that needs another round of revisions before you submit it to a journal? A tricky R&R that you are working on? A rejected paper with good bones that you are starting to rethink? Do you do research that substantively engages with an industry context? If so, we invite you to come get feedback that will help you advance your work. The paper development workshop for junior faculty and advanced doctoral students is part of the Industry Studies Association's Early Career Scholars Professional Development Workshop.

Senior editors at major outlets for industry studies research as well other leading industry studies scholars will host small roundtables with the goal of giving participants feedback on their works in progress. As a participant in the workshop, you will benefit from the feedback of an editor, and of other early career scholars who are engaged in related work. In addition to the paper development workshop, the PDW will include a journal editor's panel and an informal space for meeting and socializing with like-minded early career scholars in an intimate and collegial setting. The workshop will take place on Tuesday, May 28 at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation Conference Center in Kansas City, MO.
If you would like to participate in the paper development workshop, you should first apply for the Industry Studies Association Early Career Scholars PDW. Check a box indicating that you would like to participate in the workshop and include a 250 word abstract for your paper. You should be prepared to send a full working paper to the organizer by Friday May 10. Working papers will be circulated to all participants at your roundtable two weeks prior to the PDW.
