    Good Afternoon!

The Institute for Nonprofits at North Carolina State University and the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) have partnered for the purposes of promoting organizational research on membership associations. Over the last several years a number of free databases have been developed and made available to academics, these can be found on the Institute's website: http://nonprofit.chass.ncsu.edu/asae/overview/.

While these datasets have yielded valuable outcomes the project and partnership must continue to evolve. ASAE, which has over 21,000 executive members representing more than 10,000 organizations, has highlighted the importance of improving the methodological rigor and variables of their new datasets. The following survey has been constructed by the Institute for Nonprofits and distributed to organizational scholars in an attempt to promote this ideal. Tell us what topic areas interest you and what are the best practices for addressing these questions. All answers are anonymous and the survey has been calibrated to take between 5-10 minutes.

The survey can be found here: http://ncsu.qualtrics.com//SE/?SID=SV_eEv4CAytRA2mMvP

Your insights are truly appreciated and help determine the state of the art for membership association research.
