The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Change, Professions or Organization Theory for the department of Management & Organization.

The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEWEB) aims to combine high quality education with excellent research. The Faculty offers three Dutch taught Bachelor's programs (Economics and Business Economics, Econometrics and Operations Research and Business Administration), one English taught Bachelor's program (International Business Administration), eight English taught Master's programs and seventeen postgraduate programs. The faculty has several research groups with an outstanding international reputation. FEWEB accommodates approximately 4300 students and 1700 postgraduate students. Over 500 staff members are employed at the Faculty.
The Department of Management & Organization The Department of Management & Organization has an international research orientation in its research and houses two research programmes, one on strategic entrepreneurship and one on human resources. The Department has a collaborative ethos with staff actively working together on research projects and papers. Members of the management consulting group publish in leading journals such as
Organization Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Human Relations or Journal of Management Inquiry. They participate in conference organization (EGOS, AoM) and have established a reputation in the field of management consulting, both in theory and practice.
The Department offers a broad range of courses in both Bachelor and Master programmes, including Master specializations in Management Consulting , Strategy & Organization and Human Resource Management. Furthermore, candidates for the position are enthusiastic about creating a stimulating and motivating learning environment especially for students in the Master specialization
Management Consulting.
Candidates are required to have a PhD in Business Administration or a related field in the social sciences (completed or with a fixed date for the defense) and should be fluent in English. Teaching in the Master specialization Management Consulting requires rich knowledge about this field, based on research or experience. Also candidates who already have a proven research record are encouraged to apply (salary and position will then reflect the seniority of the candidate).
Tasks
• Teaching (in English or Dutch) in courses like Management Consulting, Organization Development and Change and/or Organization Theory, including thesis supervision, designing and grading exams and design of courses;
• Doing research on Professions, Strategic Change, Organizational Development, Business Ethics or Organization Theory with a focus on management consulting as research context;
• Publishing in international journals;
• Coordination of courses, and eventually participation in project groups or committees within the department or faculty;
• An active interest in collaboration
The position of Assistant Professor is a tenure track position with initial appointment for 6 years and possibility of tenure. The position involves research (40%) and teaching (60%). Candidates should be willing to acquire a basic qualification in teaching as demanded by Dutch universities (if they do not already have one).
Salary
We offer a competitive salary package in accordance with university regulations for academic personnel (salary scale 11 up to a maximum of €4,551 gross per month), depending on experience and based on a fulltime employment.
