CALL FOR APPLICANTS: DOCTORAL STUDENT WORKSHOP
FOURTH WEST COAST RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM ON
TECHNOLOGY ENTREPRENEURSHIP
The Center for Technology Entrepreneurship (University of Washington), the Lloyd Greif Center of Entrepreneurial Studies (USC), the Stanford Technology Ventures Program (Stanford University), and the Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship (University of Oregon) are sponsoring the 4th West Coast Research Symposium on Technology Entrepreneurship this year. Prior to the start of this research symposium, we will host a one-day Doctoral Student Workshop on technology entrepreneurship.
Theme: Doctoral Student Workshop on Technology Entrepreneurship
Location: University of Washington
Date: 7th September 2006 (main conference September 8 and 9)
We invite doctoral students to submit applications to attend this workshop. The workshop will focus on technology entrepreneurship, with an emphasis on contemporary work in the field.
Students will be given an intriguing set of articles on entrepreneurship focused on technology-related companies, and are expected to come prepared to discuss them. The goals of the workshop are to provide an intellectually rewarding experience, and to ground the research domain in multiple theoretical viewpoints. The discussions of the readings will be led by leading scholars in entrepreneurship. Of course, there will be excellent networking opportunities!
The location is the beautiful Pacific Northwest, a spectacular setting at this time of year. Students focusing on the nexus of technology and entrepreneurship will be given preference. This is a great opportunity for doctoral students to learn from some of the leading scholars and contemporary work in the field.
Participants selected for the workshop will be invited to attend the research symposium that follows the workshop. Attendees are expected to pay for their travel and lodging (2 per room, reasonable costs), but will be provided the conference proceedings and meals.
The DEADLINE for application is Monday, July 17, 2006. If you wish to be considered, please complete the online application at: https://catalysttools.washington.edu/tools/survey/?sid=21538&owner=entre
