The College of Charleston School of Business is hiring a professor to teach courses in leadership, OB, and general management. It is an exciting time to teach leadership at the College of Charleston. We have a growing minor, "Leadership, Change, and Social Responsibility," and are developing a Management major.  The School of Business is focusing on growing several student leadership programs (The Schottland Scholars; The Dean's Student Forum; the "Back to Business" component of the MBA Program). The MBA program was introduced only 3 years ago, so there is room to influence the development of leadership curriculum and activities. Moreover, the College of Charleston School of Business is a centerpiece in the Charleston Community, with a dynamic and active Board of Governors. We are hoping to hire with a start date of August 2013. An earlier deadline officially said that applications were being accepted until March 27. That date has been extended until April 8.

MANAGEMENT:  The Department of Management and Entrepreneurship in the School of Business at the College of Charleston has an opening for an Assistant Professor beginning August of 2013.  We are seeking a candidate to join our faculty in the management area who will teach undergraduate courses in leadership, OB, and general management.  Excellence in and commitment to teaching are required as is a quality research program.  Service is also expected.  A Ph.D. or D.B.A. in a relevant field is required, but A.B.D. candidates near completion of their dissertation will be considered.

For consideration, please send a letter of application including teaching philosophy, a CV or resume, three (3) letters of reference to:  Ms. Christine Rodgers, Department of Management and Entrepreneurship, School of Business, College of Charleston, 66 George Street, Charleston, SC  29424-0001.  Electronic submission of all information is preferred to:  rodgerscf@cofc.edu.  The search will close on April 8th.  Screening of applications will begin immediately.  The College of Charleston is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to increasing the diversity of our faculty and staff.  We welcome applications from women and minority groups, as well as others who would bring additional dimensions to the College's mission.

With its historic significance and European influence, Charleston is a wonderful place to live. The campus is integrated into the Charleston historic district, and the entrance to the School of Business is a mere half block from bustling King Street.  There is almost always a festival in Charleston; highlights include Spoleto, Charleston Wine & Food, and Fashion Week. From spring to fall, a farmer's market is open somewhere in the area most every day of the week.

The Department of Management, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (MIE) at North Carolina State University's Poole College of Management welcomes applications to a newly-created position for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship to begin in August, 2014. An earned Ph.D. in a relevant area is required. Salary is competitive. We will begin screening applications immediately, but applications will be accepted until the position is filled. This position is part of the College's continued commitment to grow our presence in entrepreneurship: we are also in the process of recruiting a Distinguished University Chair in entrepreneurship.

Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience and primary research interests in the area of entrepreneurship. We are looking for candidates with a strong commitment to excellence in research and publication and the desire and ability to teach in undergraduate and graduate programs. A shared commitment to helping us continue to build a leading entrepreneurship research and teaching program (including a Ph.D. program) will be essential. The Entrepreneurship Collaborative, a center within MIE, is building a set of programs and activities to support faculty whose research would benefit from doing field experiments involving local entrepreneurs and ventures. This "clinical" model will allow us to involve more of our undergraduate and graduate students in research activities and provide strong integration across theory-driven research, teaching and engagement in entrepreneurship.

We are an engaged and highly collegial group of scholars, working in one of the world's very best locations for people interested in the intersection of management and technology. Our tenured/tenure-track faculty currently includes: Professors Brad Kirkman (Department Head), Steve Allen, Ted Baker, Steve Barr, Robert Clark, Roger Mayer and Beverly Tyler; Associate Professors Lynda Aiman-Smith, Shannon Davis, Steve Markham, Paul Mulvey, and Greggry Young; and Assistant Professors Nachiket Bhawe, Turanay Caner, and David Townsend (visiting).

Highly interdisciplinary in nature, the MIE department has faculty with research programs in entrepreneurship, strategy, management of technology and innovation, organizational behavior, and human resources. The MIE department (http://poole.ncsu.edu/index-exp.php/mie/mie) and other departments in the Poole College of Management house several distinguished academic centers, including The Entrepreneurship Collaborative (TEC) (http://tec.poole.ncsu.edu/), Center for Innovation Management Studies (CIMS ) (http://cims.ncsu.edu/), Biosciences Initiative (http://biosci.poole.ncsu.edu), Supply Chain Research Cooperative (http://scm.ncsu.edu), and the Enterprise Risk Management Initiative (http://poole.ncsu.edu/erm/). We also have several international partnerships with universities around the globe. Our faculty collaborate actively with faculty across the university and beyond.

North Carolina State University is located in Raleigh, NC, within minutes of the technology-rich companies of the Research Triangle Park region and also quite near Duke University and UNC at Chapel Hill (http://www.visitraleigh.com/). With over 34,000 students and over 200 degree programs at the bachelor's, master's, professional, and doctoral levels, NC State University is the largest university in North Carolina and is a major research university with traditional strengths in science and technology. MIE faculty have participated actively in winning two recent National Science Foundation Engineering Research Centers: FREEDM and ASSIST. Our 1000- acre Centennial Campus adjoins the 700-acre main campus and has been recently selected as the Best University Research Park in the United States. The Research Triangle area is routinely and repeatedly judged as among the best places in the country to start and grow a business and as a great place to live for people of all ages. The local cultural and arts scene would do much larger cities proud. You can enjoy the mountains (the best east of the Rockies) and the beach (endless and freely accessible) during the same weekend, stopping to enjoy several large recreational lakes along the way.

For additional information and to apply, interested candidates should visit:  http://jobs.ncsu.edu/postings/26470. A CV, letter of application, and contact information for three references are required with submission of application. Interested applicants may also contact Professor Ted Baker at Ted_Baker@ncsu.edu.
