Dear OMT-ers,
I am presently working on a meta-analysis of the empirical evidence on
neo-institutional organization theory, as pioneered by Meyer & Rowan (1977),
DiMaggio and Powell (1983), and many notable others. More in particular, I
seek to systematically assess the support for hypotheses predicting (a) how
institutional pressures lead to structural and strategic isomorphism, and
(b) how isomorphism in turn leads to favorable substantive and symbolic
organizational outcomes.
So far, published articles have been retrieved from sources like EBSCO and
SSCI/Web-of-Science, and a number of authors have been contacted directly
for unpublished PhD-theses and working papers. This has thus far yielded a
database of 200+ sources, 88 of which actually report coefficients that can
be included in the analyses. But there must be more out there!
I specifically would like to ask you whether you have participated in any
studies – published or as of yet unpublished; quantitative, qualitative, or
conceptual – on neo-institutional theory, and if so, whether you would be
kind enough to share them with me. All eligible quantitative studies will be
included in the meta-analysis and together with the qualitative and
conceptual works cited in the final paper. Please send the bibliographical
reference(s) to your published work, or, if possible and convenient, an
electronic file of the manuscript(s).
Feel free to send your response electronically to my research assistant
Michel Lander at
landermichel@hotmail.com or to me directly at
pheugens@rsm.nl (in case you wish to send us hard-copies, please use the

Thank you very much for your help!
Warm regards,
Pursey
