Call for applications: Doctoral fellow within the project “Knowledge–
Practices Laboratory” (KP-Lab)
InterMedia, University of Oslo invites applications to a full time
Doctoral research fellow position. The successful applicant will be
accepted in the Faculty of Education’s PhD-programme.
This position is connected to the strategic initiative "Digital Design”.
The research will be part of our contributions in “Knowledge Practices
Laboratory” (KP-Lab). KP-Lab is a 5 year Integrated Project (2006-2011),
funded under the 6th Framework for research, Priority 2: Information
Society Technologies.
Digital Design is a multidisciplinary research collaboration initiative by
InterMedia, Institute of Informatics and Institute of Media and
Communications at the University of Oslo. One of the areas within this
initiative focuses on design of digital environments for the learning
organization. KP-Lab focuses at analysis and development of theoretical
models for knowledge creation, learning and innovation in professional
networks, and design, research and development of collaborative
technologies for transformations of emerging knowledge practices in
educational settings and professional networks. For more information,

This fellowship will focus on analyses of cases from current practice in
industry and health care, and design to support knowledge advancement in
such professional networks. It is expected that the research fellow
participates in development and use of the participatory approaches in
KP-Lab, including, but not limited to, change laboratory tools,
interviews, video observation, design and modifications of technological
tools, interaction analysis.
The applicant should develop his/her own proposal within KP-Lab, and
describe the research project the applicant will to pursue. This includes
theoretical approach, research questions, methods, literature. The
proposal will be further modified/developed in collaboration with the
InterMedia research team. Upon evaluation of applications, the relevance
of the applicant’s proposal and the applicant’s qualifications to pursue
the research will be considered most important.
Note that under the Norwegian system a doctoral fellow is employed with
the faculty and receives a full salary for the whole period. Questions
