    Dear OMT division member.

I am writing to let you know about a PDW at this year's Academy meeting
    in Atlanta.

The aim of this session is to bring together a small, relatively
informal, gathering of likeminded scholars who do simulation work to
discuss issues both technical and philosophical relating to simulation
and its role in the social sciences.

The first goal of the workshop is to share thoughts about approaches to
representing real world phenomena in computer simulations as well as
affording an opportunity to share thoughts about tools, tips, and
‘tricks of the trade’. The workshop will also provide an excellent
forum for discussion of larger, more philosophical questions, which is
    our second goal.

The session is limited to 20 people excluding the PDW facilitators and
panel. Participants will be expected to have done, or be doing
simulation work, and should be familiar with a computer programming
    language. Pre-registration is required.
