Bringing Power to Institutional Theory: Reflections on the Silences and the Silenced

We would like to invite you all to what we hope will be a fascinating discussion on power in institutional processes and thinking.
This PDW will be held on Saturday August 12, 10:00AM to 12:30PM. Atlanta Marriott Marquis International 3.
Power has always been part of neo-institutionalism, but the very understanding of its meaning underwent some interesting changes, and is still somewhat under-theorized. In this PDW we will explore how power was conceptualized and incorporated into studies of institutions. We will reflect on the reasons that might explain the current state of affairs, and we'll think together of ways to deepen out conceptualizations of power in the institutional drama.

All this, with the help of Tina Tacin (Queen's University), Michal Frenkel (Hebrew University), Raghu Garud (Penn State University), Marc Ventresca (Oxford University) and Paul Hirsch (Northwestern University).
    Looking forward to seeing you,
Tammar B. Zilber (Hebrew University) and Kelly Thomson (York University)
