Hello!
I'm not sure I should post my quesiton here. But I hope someone can help. I have some doubts about Frederick Taylor and want to clarify them.
1. Why did he meet with oppositoin and resentment to his management science at his time? It seems that both workers/ uninions and managers were not happy with his methods.
2.Which is more accurate to describe him:an honest scientist / engineer? or a shrewed buisnessman specilized in management techniques? Literature says he revised the results of his experiments with pig iron so that it was more impressive. Perhaps he may gloss over his other results. Was his advocacy of cooperation between workers and managers out of his belief or just his ploy to win support for his theory?
Any explainations or comments or reference will be appreciated.
Thank you.
Best Regards,
Sheng
