    Dear colleagues,

I am delighted to share with you a special Dialog section of the Journal of Management Inquiry, marking the 50th anniversary of Robert K. Merton's "The Matthew Effect in Science". The authors in this collection engage with economics, sociology, and management in order to understand the social dynamics at the core of inequality and influence. JMI Dialogs showcase a key challenge for management scholarship: arguing convincingly within very constrained space.

We hope that you enjoy these essays and that they inspire your status research.
