Upcoming ORGANIZATIONS AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT (ONE) PDWs at the Academy, 2014
At the end of next week, the 2014 Academy of Management begins. For those interested in organizations and the natural environment, the PDW launch at 8:00 a.m. Friday morning with an interactive session lead by Mark Starik on Urgent Academic and Sustainability Action (#43). Starting at 9:00, Susan Kayser, along with Glen Dowell and others, will be offering a session on The Power of Social and Environmental Disclosure(#59). At noon, Mike Wood will be coordinating the ONE Doctoral Consortium. In the later afternoon, a session on Authentic Sustainability(#166) session will be held by Jason Jay and Sarah Soderstrom. As you will see in the AoM Program, on Friday, there are also co-sponsored ONE PDWs, including on moving from the auto(mobile) to mobility and engaging Ostrom.
On Saturday, we start early and end late again. The Joint ONE-SIM Junior Faculty Consortium begins at 8:00 a.m. At 10:15 a.m., Jorge Arevalo and company will host a session on Sustainability in Management Education (#293). At 10:45 a.m. Joel Gehman and colleagues will start their session on Researching Energy (#309). The Living Planet Workshop (#354) returns at 12:30 p.m. Sustainability sessions on Cosmopolitanism(#402), Film (#413), and The Power of Words & Deeds (#439) are being offered on Saturday afternoon. Also throughout the day are a number of co-sponsored sessions, including PDWs on shamanism, spirituality, alternatives to the corporation, de-growth, and incubating research. Saturdayevening the PDW portion of the program wraps up with the ONE Welcome Reception from 6:30pm-8:30pm in the PCC Room 121 B. We welcome new ONE members and participants in our PDW workshops to the session, as well as anyone interested in ONE.
