UC Santa Barbara's Technology Management Program invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of assistant professor (tenure-track) or associate professor (with tenure). The appointment will be effective July 1, 2019, and the candidate is expected to be in residence beginning fall quarter, 2019. The successful candidate will complement a growing faculty engaged in cutting-edge research and teaching at the intersection of social and technological systems.

The Technology Management Program, which offers Masters' and Ph.D.
degrees and undergraduate and graduate certificates, resides within UC
    Santa Barbara's College of Engineering. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. from a relevant field at time of appointment. We particularly welcome applications from people who have expertise in strategy and innovation or in teams. We also welcome applications from scholars who have expertise in any of the following areas: knowledge and learning;
entrepreneurship; organizations and work; and science and technology
studies. Interdisciplinary approaches to studying phenomena at any level
of analysis are especially welcome. A record of securing external
funding for research is desirable, especially for applications at the
    associate professor level.

Our core TMP faculty includes Stephen Barley, Matthew Beane, Ted Frech, Gary Hansen, Paul Leonardi, Kyle Lewis, Renee Rottner, and Bob York, whose research and teaching span management, engineering, and social sciences and reflect the unit's intentional interdisciplinary character.

All applications will be held in strict confidence by the Search
Committee. To apply, please submit CV, cover letter, statement of
research, statement of teaching, as well as contact information for
three reference letters and an optional statement of contributions to
diversity via UC Recruit https://recruit.ap.ucsb.edu/apply/JPF01273. The
application opens July 6, 2018. For primary consideration, applicants
should submit all materials by September 13, 2018. We are likely to
begin inviting candidates for on campus interviews in October 2018.

The Department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service.

The University of California is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action
Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for
employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual
orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status,
protected veteran status, or any other characteristic
