Dear OMT member,
we are proud to announce that on April 15 and 16, the International OFEL conference in Dubrovnik, Croatia, will host a Doctoral Student and Junior Faculty Workshop organized in collaboration with the Organization and Management Theory (OMT) of the Academy of Management.
The workshop will be led by Professor Davide Ravasi (Cass Business School, London), member of the Executive Committee of the OMT Division and former Associate Editor of the Journal of Management Studies, and Professor Alessandro Zattoni (Luiss Business School, Rome), Editor-in-Chief of Corporate Governance: An International Review.
Doctoral students and junior faculty at all levels are encouraged to participate, especially if they are in the process of submitting, or are planning to submit a paper to top academic journals. The main objective of the workshop is to foster interaction among doctoral students and junior faculty from South East Europe, and between them and international scholars and editors of top journals, and to transfer essential know-how on publishing in top journals.
During the first part of the workshop, the speakers will illustrate and discuss how the editorial process works in top academic journals, and share their experience – as authors, reviewers, and editors – in doing and publishing research in these journals. A particular emphasis will be made on how to claim a theoretical contribution.
The second part of the workshop will focus on research methods, with an emphasis on qualitative research methods. With a growing trend of qualitative papers being published in top journals, participants will learn about "what makes good qualitative research" and how to present qualitative research for publication. Participants that would like to present a paper, and get feedback on their work, should send their papers by March 1st 2016 the latest.
The conference also includes extracurricular activities like a gala dinner, closing ceremony, and trips to explore the beauties of the city of Dubrovnik and its region.
The workshop will be held at the University of Dubrovnik, Department of Economics and Business Economics (Address: Lapadska obala 7, 20000 Dubrovnik, Croatia). The workshop fee is 150 € for all payments made until the 22nd of February. After February 22nd, the fee is 250 €. You can find the payment details here: http://www.ciru.hr/index.php/registration-fees-2016 . All participants will be offered lunch and light refreshments throughout the day
