IIMU, established by the Government of India to create an excellent human resource pool of world class leaders and managers, aims to set a new benchmark by delivering quality education and building and disseminating knowledge. Through its research, IIMU intends to develop intellectual capital on the critical challenges facing India's business organizations and leaders in key industries, nonprofit organizations and government while working with them towards sustainable solutions. IIMU is located in the internationally famed city of Udaipur, which is in the historically and culturally rich state of Rajasthan. The faculty members of OB & HRM area at IIMU are trained in management, industry, and labor relations, as well as various social and physical science disciplines. They are the graduates of leading universities from across the world and are active scholars. The faculty members have published in leading academic journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science and, Journal of Business Ethics. Their research interests are diverse and include topics such as competition, creativity, critical management studies, economic sociology, entrepreneurship, gender, group & industry dynamics, knowledge/ignorance management, labor market, leadership, social capital, social identity, strategic HRM, and work- life experiences within organizations.
Aspiring candidates must demonstrate capability in carrying out high-quality research and either completed or be in the final stages of their Ph.D with an outstanding research record or work in progress in top-tier journals. IIMU wants to hire young faculty, who will be given the highest level of support in terms of requisite resources, in terms of funds and time for pursuing research and flexibility in teaching and opportunities for consulting as well as a nurturing environment to grow in. IIMU has a collaborative as well as a supportive culture that is essential for the success of any new faculty member.
