The department of Management of Tilburg University is inviting excellent and highly motivated bachelor and masters graduates to apply to the department's Research Master (RM) and PhD programs.
The department of Management is part of the School of Economics and Management at Tilburg University (TiSEM). The department faculty members work primarily in the research areas of strategy, organization theory, entrepreneurship, innovation, and international business, as well as supply chain and information management, from a variety of theoretical and empirical methodological perspectives. The department members are drawn from leading universities in North America, Asia and Europe and have a very strong research orientation with a focus on high-quality publications. The working language of the department and TiSEM is English. Further information about the Management department is available at www.tilburguniversity.edu/mgt.
Tilburg University is one of Europe's leading universities in the fields of economics and management – it regularly ranks among Europe's top 3 by research productivity. Tilburg is a student-centered city located in the Southern Netherlands, within one of Europe's foremost high-tech regions and equidistant from Amsterdam (Netherlands), Brussels (Belgium) and the Dusseldorf/Cologne area (Germany).
The RM/PhD program consists of two phases. The two-year RM, which is equivalent to the course stage in US universities' PhD programs, consists of taking courses, developing analytical and methodological skills, and writing a thesis which may serve as a foundation for the PhD. During the three-year phase of the PhD (with an option for a fourth year), the students work on their dissertation research project.
The RM/PhD students are taught by the department's and the university's leading researchers in small, highly interactive content and method courses aimed at providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge for conducting high level research. The department has an active seminar series featuring top scholars from around the world. Through participation in departmental events and close interaction and mentoring by faculty members, the students are encouraged to integrate into the department and develop as complete scholars. Students are encouraged to follow their own research interests and are offered maximal research time. Generous financial support is available at both RM and PhD levels to qualified applicants.
Our graduates have obtained academic positions in leading North American, Asian and European universities (e.g., Texas A&M, Singapore Management University, London Business School), as well as consulting and non-academic research jobs.
Detailed information is available, and applications can be made through TiSEM's CentER graduate school web site: http://www.tilburguniversity.edu/research/institutes-and-research-groups/center/graduate-school/prospective-students/
