DOCTORAL AND EARLY CAREER FACULTY PAPER DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP
ON CREATIVE INDUSTRIES, 27-28TH JUNE 2017, University of Edinburgh

The purpose of this PDW is to provide doctoral students and early career faculty with constructive feedback to further develop their papers on creative industries. We encourage papers that focus on the following research areas within creative industries: industry emergence, changing industry boundaries due to digital technologies and cultural lifestyles, the formation and change of institutional fields, authenticity of cultural products and processes, genres and categories, the roles of various forms of capital in creative industries, the ways in which social networks and structures influence creative industries.
Participation is limited to 30 participants to provide more intensive feedback on each paper and positive experience for participants. The workshop will be characterized by an informal atmosphere with papers discussed in roundtables by mentors and participants.
Please submit one page abstracts and C.V.s no later than 15 April 2017 to the organizers (Candace.Jones@ed.ac.uk; Santi.Furnari.1@city.ac.uk).Participants will be notified of acceptance by 30 April 2017 and full papers are due by 1 June, 2017.

The workshop will begin at 12:00 on 27th June and end at 15:00 28th June. Food (evening meal on 27th June and day meals and coffee breaks of 27th June)are funded by the generosity of SAMS. Participants will pay for their travel and hotel room for night of 27 June. The University of Edinburgh has reserved a block of hotel rooms within walking distance from the school for 89.00 GBP for single occupancy. The rooms must be reserved with credit card by 15 May 2017.
