    The University of Oklahoma, Price College of Business is pleased to announce that applications and nominations are being accepted for the C. S. TROSPER CHAIR IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND DIRECTOR, DIVISION OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.  This position is funded through generous support from the C. S. Trosper Endowment and the Office of the President of the University of Oklahoma.  The intent is to identify an innovator in scholarly thought in entrepreneurship.  This person will serve as Director of the Division providing leadership in our continuing efforts to build our capabilities in the area.

     

    The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate.  Candidates will have an internationally recognized research record and extensive teaching experience in entrepreneurship at least at the masters and PhD level with qualifications for tenure at the Associate or Full Professor level at the University of Oklahoma.  In addition, the successful candidate will have experience in effective outreach with relevant external constituencies.  Administrative experience will be a plus.

    The University of Oklahoma is a comprehensive research university offering a wide range of undergraduate, masters and Ph.D. programs plus an extensive continuing education and public service program.  The Michael F. Price College of Business is AACSB accredited at all levels with approximately 4,200 students in bachelors, masters and Ph.D. programs. The Entrepreneurship program and the Price College Center for Entrepreneurship are currently ranked #5 in the country by The Princeton Review/Entrepreneur Magazine (#2 among public institutions).

     

    The Division of Entrepreneurship & Economic Development in the Michael F. Price College of Business currently has 5 full-time faculty members plus a sixth faculty member on a joint appointment.  Faculty in Entrepreneurship include: Lowell Busenitz, Ron Bolen, Jim Wheeler, Will Drover and Robert Dauffenbach plus Jeremy Short on a joint appointment. Three additional positions are anticipated.  The Division also includes the University of Oklahoma Office of Technology Development and the inter-disciplinary Center for the Creation of Economic Wealth.

     

    The city of Norman, Oklahoma is a vibrant community of approximately 110,000 residents and is often ranked among the lowest in the nation in terms of cost of living. In addition to numerous boutiques, shopping, and restaurants located directly north of campus, Norman is nicknamed the 'City of Festivals' due to its numerous art, music, medieval, and other festivals held annually. Campus is home to the Fred Jones Museum of Art, featuring a collection of impressionistic art valued at over $50 million including works of Degas, Monet, Cassatt, Van Gogh, Pissarro, Renoir, and others. Campus also houses the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, which won the National Medal for Museum and Library Science in 2014.

    Located less than fifteen miles from Norman, Oklahoma City is home to numerous restaurants, NBA Basketball, a world-class symphony, ballet, a travelling Broadway Series, and the Oklahoma City Museum of Art which boasts one of the world's most comprehensive collections from famed glass artist Dale Chihuly. Oklahoma City's Boathouse district is a training site for Olympians plus offers numerous boating and cycling opportunities along the Oklahoma River. Forbe's Magazine recently included Oklahoma City in the top five cities for young entrepreneurs and CNN rated Oklahoma City as the top ranked business-friendly city.
