Boston University invites applications from outstanding scholars for the newly endowed Larz Anderson Chair in Health Management and Transformation. This tenured Full Professor appointment may be housed within any of the departments within the School of Management. In addition, the holder of the chair will serve as the inaugural Director of Boston University's new university-wide Institute for Health System Innovation (IHSI). As director, the holder of this chair will be expected to conduct a distinguished research program and provide academic leadership that enhances interdisciplinary, cross-university research collaborations. The director will also be expected to develop new educational initiatives focusing on critical health system issues.
Qualified candidates shall be recognized as national and/or international leaders in health system innovation, including experience with management, technology, and/or public policy initiatives. Candidates will have an earned doctorate from a relevant field or an M.D., as well as having the outstanding record of academic publications, teaching, and service necessary to meet tenure requirements at Boston University. Successful candidates should also possess the strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills required for directing the IHSI.
