Subject: Award-winning PDW on International Diversity Incubators
I am writing to bring your attention to an innovative Professional Development
Workshop (PDW) for which the GDO Division won a Challenge Award. The PDW,
entitled "International Diversity Incubators," will be held on Saturday August 4
from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
In order for this session to succeed, those interested in participating must
pre-register by July 5, 2007 (rather than June 1, 2007 as stated in the program)
by contacting me at
lbowessp@wnec.edu.
The innovative format of the PDW is as follows: each participant identifies the
country in which they reside and topic(s) within gender and diversity on which
they would like to collaborate with colleagues from other countries. Incubators
will be formed with participants from different countries interested in the same
topic. Members of each incubator will be provided with contact information for
all members in their group and dialogue among them will begin before the Academy
meeting. The Challenge Award provides GDO with funds to cover teleconferences
for the incubators.
It is my hope that collaborations among incubator members continue well after
the meetings.
