    *********** MESSAGE FROM MODERATOR *****************

As some of you have noticed, OMT and the other AOM listservers have been
down for a short while. The friendly and efficient AOM technical team,
with whom I have been interacting for years, upgraded the software
needed to run the listservers and that required taking the lists down
for a while. On the front end, you will see a slightly different
format, on the back end, the list is easier to manage, more robust, and
also better protected from the nasties that roam the internet.

Fun fact: OMT has a "honeypot" eaddress to catch spam, and the quantity
and content of messages we receive is, in its own twisted way, a good
indicator of how creative human beings can be. If any of you is
interested in the fortune of a deceased relative of the Kaiser of
Prussia, lose weight, increase their metabolism, stop hair loss, cure
cancer, extend life, expand consciousness, or fold time, just let me
know and I will be happy to forward these messages.

Obviously, the list is working again. However, if you have submitted a
message since June 7 or so, it may have been lost so I will ask you
kindly to resend it or contact me if in doubt. Most messages went out,
but if in doubt we are here to help.

Let me take advantage of this message to remind you that for a variety
of reasons, OMT does not operate in real time. I try to make sure
messages are posted as soon as they are submitted and subscriptions
processed rapidly, but since all activities require that I connect to
the internet and manually "approve" them, sometimes a few hours pass
between my interventions. If you have a time-sensitive message, please
submit it a few days in advance so I have the time to approve it, and
all OMTers have the time to react to it. Disclaimer: I do not censor
messages. "Approving" means that I make sure the message is not spam,
unrelated to the list, already expired, discriminatory in any way, or in
contradictions of OMT and AOM pre-approved policies.

Thank you for your patience and for being with OMT (The place to be)
