MESSAGE FROM YOUR FRIENDLY MODERATOR
Dear all,
All good things must come to an end, and my service as OMT moderator is no exception. A while ago, I kindly asked my friends and colleagues at OMT's Exec Board to help me find my successor and they have obliged so after a long period of service, I am ready to step down.
As the older OMTers know, I have been doing this for a while and as a consequence I have subscribed the vast majority of those who are members of this list. I have also moderated uncountable messages (but if you would like to know how many, I have a copy of every single message posted), and witnessed the transition of a technology that was cutting edge when it was launched to near complete obsolescence, replaced by IM and social networks. I've had fun.
For the past few weeks, we have been working with Derek Harmon (USC) to ensure the transition will be seamless and we both feel we are ready to move. Derek is also in charge of Social Media Platforms for OMT, and has some very kewl (sorry, c00l) ideas to ensure that the digital presence of OMT is as vibrant as possible, and that OMT remains The Place to Be. He will be announcing those in due time, just you wait...
Before I go then, a quick goodbye to you all, a virtual handshake and/or a kiss, depending on what is proper where you live. It was a pleasure working with you all, and hope to see you here, there, or in between.
