    Dear all,

A quick message with multiple goals.  First, let me ask you to accept my sincere apologies for the technical difficulties we experiences with OMTList recently.  As you may or may not know, technical disruptions at AOM headquarters (who graciously host all listervers) made publishing messages and enrolling new members difficult and/or impossible for a while.  Unfortunately, that while was a few days before the Academy of Management which is traditionally a very important moment for many users, including job seekers, job postings, and other academy-related material.  OMT is fully moderated, which means that every message and every user needs to be approved by its moderator.

Listserver technology is becoming obsolete in this time of whatsapps, skypes, facebooks and linkedings, but still many of you rely on it to post important messages, and I am sad (and a little embarrassed) that the list failed precisely when we needed it the most.  Truth be told, it failed in a similar way a few weeks ago, but since it was a low-intensity moment most of you did not notice.

In any case: OMT techies are aware of the problem, and are working to fix it as soon as they can.  In the meantime, and based on the principle that redundancy is good, I invite you to rely also on OMT´s other channels of communication that are wonderfully managed by my colleague Joel Gehman and team.  You will find it here http://omtweb.org/ and do not forget to check the blog.

Once again, very sorry about the disruption.  OMT Listserver has been operating 24/7 for many years, so let´s say we took a nap this time.

Let me take advantage of this message to wish you a productive AOM meeting in Disney´s parallel universe if you are there, and/or a great summer/winter break.

    Cheers,

    Pablo MARTIN de HOLAN
