    Campus Alberta Innovates Program Chair (CAIP) – University of Alberta Theme: Innovation Policy and Technology Translation University of Alberta School of Business The University of Alberta, School of Business seeks an established or promising scholar to fill a Campus Alberta Innovates Program Research Chair position. This Program Chair is part of a new Province-wide initiative (see: www.campusalbertainnovatesprogram.ca/index.html). Candidates will hold a PhD and will be expected to play a lead role in contributing to research on innovation policy and technology translation with an interest in the areas of Water, Energy and the Environment. While we are open to hiring at any level (assistant, associate, full), the ideal candidate will have a strong research record with several publications in top tier journals in the area. The Alberta School of Business has strong research competencies and strategic initiatives focused on Energy and Environment and Technology Commercialization. Our Centre for Applied Business Research in Energy and the Environment (CABREE) has played a lead role in making the University of Alberta visible in energy and environment policy. Our Technology Commercialization Centre has been active in supporting the translation of university inventions into marketable products, and encouraging the development of a more entrepreneurial culture across campus. Our initiatives include collaboration and linkages to the faculties of science, engineering and medicine, as well as TEC Edmonton and the National Institute for Nanotechnology (NINT). The CAIP chair will build upon and leverage our extant expertise in these areas. Alberta has attracted world-class scientists, who have the potential to stimulate new forms of economic growth and development in the Province, via the generation of innovative ideas and technologies to address issues related to water, energy and the environment. This position will coordinate with other scientifically-centered CAIP institutions (in Calgary, Lethbridge and Athabasca) to bridge gaps in our innovation system as we continue to convert our inventions into marketable products, successful companies, and functional technologies that address our most pressing problems. The CAIP chair will focus on addressing critical gaps in the Campus Alberta Innovation ecosystem by providing policy leadership for the province in these areas and to develop joint initiatives with other key faculties across Campus Alberta. The Alberta School of Business offers undergraduate, MBA and PhD degree programs. We are one of the largest business schools in Canada with 80 faculty members, 2000 undergraduate students, and 460 students in our MBA and PhD programs.
