Call for proposals: SMS Strategy Practice Interest Group (IG)

    (Apologies for cross-posting)
    Dear everyone,
As you may know, the Strategic Management Society (SMS) will be hosting
their 32nd Annual International Conference in Prague (7-9th October
2012) with a theme of “Strategy in Transition”
    http://prague.strategicmanagement.net/index.php

The Strategy Practice Interest Group (IG) of SMS
    (http://strategicmanagement.net/ig/practice_of_strategy.php ) would like
to encourage you to submit your best paper proposals (only 7-pages max.,
inclusive of Reference, Tables and Figures) before the deadline of 23rd
    February 2012.

The Strategy Practice IG focuses on the interplay between what strategy
practitioners “do” and the practices they use that guide and influence
    their strategies.

We welcome high quality submissions from Academics (As), Business
Practitioners (Bs) and Consultants (Cs), including proposals that
advocate the co-production of knowledge between combinations of As Bs
and Cs. We are particularly interested in contributions that are novel,
interesting and counter-intuitive in advancing the field of strategy
practice by addressing any of the following and related questions: What
new ways of thinking are required of strategy practitioners operating in
transitional and transformative environments? How do the interplay
between strategy workers, praxis and practices differ cross-culturally?
What are the micro, meso and macro implications of strategizing within
and between markets that are in a constant state of flux? Where are the
new theories of strategizing? How can we better leverage on a
multi-disciplinary approach to inform and advance the strategy practice
agenda? What new lessons can we learn in teaching strategy-as-practice?
And what are the methodological innovations and challenges in helping
organizations create new ways of thinking and doing?

We also want to let members know that our IG also welcomes submissions
from practitioners and consultants dealing with the key challenges,
issues and unsolved problems facing the work of strategy, strategizing
and strategic management. One key fundamental requirement in particular
is that we ask such submissions be of a high quality demonstrating clear
thinking, well structured, help advance our understanding of complex
issues, and that the proposal is substantiated by sources / references.

If you have any questions about this please contact me
